The local Internet community
Bradford-Net.com is website produced by Infosition Ltd.. The company was founded in 1998 (under its former name, Bradford-Net.com Ltd.), by three graduates of the University of Bradford class of '95, who had been using the Internet extensively since commencing their undergraduate studies in 1991.
We witnessed the earliest days of the World Wide Web and the birth of the first search engines, but felt that the Internet was often too global in nature, doing little for local communities in which we took a more social interest. We had no ambitions towards global rollouts or becoming Internet millionaires, but we did want to create a local and sustainable business which could benefit the local community in which we lived. In 1998, we realised that goal, and Bradford-Net.com Ltd. was born.
Our company today
There have been many changes in our company since 1998. People have come and gone, and we've had our share of tough times when the dot-com bubble burst and technology spending dried up - but our goal always remained the same - to provide a useful service to our local community. When we haven't been able to run our service to cover its costs, it has still been maintained in our spare time through a sense of dedication and social commitment.
Today, our company enjoys making a small profit while continuing to develop its local Internet services. Rapidly growing visitor numbers, combined with regular requests to launch a similar service for Leeds, have brought us to a point where we have developed Leeds.biz, where we start a new chapter in our history.
We still live and work in Bradford and Leeds, and we hope you benefit from our two local search engines as we ourselves do.
Bradford-Net.com - the Internet, locally.
