Providing a comprehensive search experience
Why are sites not included, or specifically excluded from some search engines, including Bradford-Net.com? There can be legitimate reasons, but the difference between Bradford-Net.com and other search engines is often that they exclude sites because of technical and service limitations. While we do operate an editorial policy, you'll probably find this leads us to be more comprehensive while excluding the kind of deceptive, unpleasant and illegal sites which major search engines blindly include.
Search Engines in General May Exclude Because...
- a website is not well linked to the rest of the Internet.
- technical errors in the website programming code (e.g. HTML) cause problems for their indexing system.
- the website has heavy keyword use which passes their 'spam' threshold.
- Search Engine Optimisation techniques cause the site to be identified as deceptive.
- site forwarding/framing is employed which suggests a deceptive site.
- the domain has been previously blacklisted under a former owner.
- they optimise the size/speed of the search engine (excluding little-visited sites).
Exclusions from Bradford-Net.com
- Businesses and organisations not in the Bradford 'BD' postal district.
- Websites whose content is not compliant with UK law.
- Companies which abuse our service/staff.
- Personal homepages/blogs (at the moment!)
